Job Description

Execute clerical functions to the Treasurer's Office. Provide administrative clerical support to the Treasurer.  Support Treasurer in verifying cash transactions on a daily basis. Prepare bank statements and relevant financial records for county administration. Maintain and manage treasury files, bank records, financial logs and reports. Initiate and implement safe and secure measures in protecting treasury cash. Perform any combination of the following: calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records; compiling and sort documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.

Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts. Reconcile bank statements.

May be designated according to type of accounting performed, such as Accounts-Payable Clerk; Accounts-Receivable Clerk; Bill-Recapitulation Clerk; Rent and Miscellaneous Remittance Clerk; Tax-Record Clerk.

Other duties as approved and assigned by the Treasurer.

Qualifications

Education:
Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: Classes in accounting

Experience: prior Bookkeeping experience is preferred

Computer Skills: Employee must be profiecient in Microsoft Excel and have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
