Job Description
The Dean of Off-Site Learning (Dean of OSL) at Uncommon will be a part of the High School Dean of Students team working to ensure that all students demonstrate dramatic student achievement gains and internalize the school’s values. This individual will be responsible for specific culture initiatives and discipline systems for our off-site learning program as assigned by school leadership to help create a positive, structured, consistent, caring, and disciplined school culture.
Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare daily for OSL scholars by creating and maintaining communication systems with off-site Deans of Students at each campus
Create and implement OSL program that help students reflect on their behavior
Manage the OSL classroom daily, including communicating with teachers, school leaders and families
Distribute and monitor work that students are completing during OSL
Assist the Dean of Students when no students are in OSL
Meet weekly with manager for feedback, goal-setting, coaching/practice, collaboration and problem-solving of discipline issues and concerns
Utilize Kickboard and Microsoft Excel to monitor and analyze behavioral data of students. Create action plans to address gaps in data
Meet with Deans of Students monthly to collaborate on student action plans
Other projects and initiatives as determined by Principals and Regional Superintendent of Instruction (e.g. off-site student support, collaboration with social workers and SPED coordinators)

Experience in crisis and change management, leading and/or coaching adults and creating and maintaining whole school systems.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.

Ability to interpret academic and behavioral data and identify trends
Ability to provide high quality feedback to teachers and school culture teams
Ability to facilitate whole school moments with strong leadership presence
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree is required;
At least 2 years of experience working in an urban district or charter school setting.
Additional Information
Compensation for this position: Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $77,500 - $87,500 The starting compensation for this role is between $77,500 and $116,400. The starting pay will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. To receive an offer at the top of the range, candidates will need significant experience in a directly aligned role. Because we value staff tenure in a role, we do not currently cap salary ranges for current staff members.
