Job Description

The Operations Associate Manager is responsible for ensuring seamless running of the CO team, creating and managing key processes owned by Operations across regions and schools, driving communications for Operations across the org, managing the CO and RSO budget, and supporting key projects and initiatives as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Create systems for & manage all Cross-Regional Operations communications (DOO weeklies, RSO weekly, MDO weekly, Operations communications scope and sequence) 
  • Support the cross-regional cohort of Directors of Schools Support in meeting their charge by: 
    • Codifying aligned workstreams with templates and resources 
    • Creating and publishing (in partnership with IT) the SST dashboard to track performance on key metrics
  • Drive materials and execution of DOSS and RSO manager meetings
  • Determine the need for, create, and manage the rollout and implementation of key processes owned by operations centrally to improve efficiency, and alignment, and ensure effective execution, i.e:
    • Regional, school, leader bonuses
    • Annual revisions of Student Handbooks 
    • Calendar creation for regions
    • Leader transitions (communication and handoff)
  • Create and oversee the implementation of Operations and RSO budgets including:
    • Create both the CRO and RSO budgets annually
    • Determine the need for, create, and implement training and expectation setting for all stakeholders
    • Manage expenses ongoing and facilitate internal decision-making for unexpected expenses
  • Create processes for and manage Operations team content and logistics - team meetings, team culture, CO Team calendar 
  • Provide key support and at times drive initiatives and projects for Operations, including driving communication and change management with key stakeholders (HO colleagues, DOOs, RSOs, etc.) 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • 2 years of direct experience in operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Extremely receptive to feedback and constantly striving for high standards of excellence.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - including effective senior stakeholder management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Schedule & Travel:

  • 3-5 days/week in person to our central office in the Financial Dsitruct
  •  Travel to schools in our regions about 4 times a year

Compensation for this position:  Candidates who meet all job description requirements will likely receive an offer of $78,300.  The starting compensation for this role is between $74,000 to $87,000.  The starting pay will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.   To receive an offer at the top of the range, candidates will need significant experience beyond the job description  requirements.  Because we value staff tenure in a role, we do not currently cap salary ranges for current staff members.
