Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a full-time Receptionist to work on site at Uncommon’s brand new central office in downtown Manhattan.

Office Management

 

  • Provide front desk coverage, managing access and COVID protocols for staff, vendors and visitors
  • Maintain the office space (e.g., restocking materials, manage reservation system for conference rooms)
  • Manage office supplies, equipment, and furnishings (e.g., inventory, restocking, organization)
  • Implement a mail and deliveries distribution process
  • Complete projects and tasks pertaining to overall office operations, culture, communication and aesthetics

Financial management

 

  • Plan and manage ordering for the office within budget guidelines
  • Process invoices for office expenses

General Administration Duties

  • General clerical duties as needed (e.g., scanning, mailing, etc.)
  • Serve as the on-site customer service point of contact for Uncommon staff

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Displays upbeat and positive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor even in challenging situations
  • Eager to learn and receive feedback
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks ongoing and meet tight deadlines
  • Displays maturity and ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to high standards of excellence
  • Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office Outlook and Excel a plus!
  • 1-3 years of administrative office experience? Even better!
