Job Description
The Director, Operations Management leads key cross-functional projects and initiatives that strengthen and align school and regional Operations at Uncommon Schools. Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the Managing Directors of Operations, the Director plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Operations goals are achieved by setting vision, working with partners across the organization, driving key priorities and strategic projects forward, and delivering on outcomes for all Operations team members.
Lead Key Projects and Initiatives
Set vision for and outline scope of high priority Operations projects and initiatives
Lead cross-functional projects by establishing teams, creating structures and plans, adjusting as needed, and ensuring excellent execution and achievement of goals
Successfully drive annually recurring Operations work to optimal outcomes
Develop Exceptional Tools and Resources
Develop, update and rollout best-in-class resources to Operations leaders to support their leadership and development of their teams (ie, OpX toolkits, management and development suite, Ops inspections, etc.)
Collect and consolidate school-based resources and input to generate outstanding tools for school leaders
Drive Ops Talent Strategy
Develop and drive forward strategy to invest in Operations leader hiring, development and retention
Qualifications
5-6 years of directly related experience in school operations or talent management
Outstanding project management skills and proven track record of achieving outcomes
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Strong prioritization skills amidst many competing, high-leverage, high-impact priorities
Seeks and responds well to feedback
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-change organization; flexible
Bachelor's Degree
