Job Description

This role is responsible for operationally supporting two Assistant Superintendents (ASups), our senior instructional leaders who oversee instruction, and manage and support a portfolio of Principals! They will ensure efficient and effective support of academic programs and Principal development through strong communication, organization and event support!

Responsibilities

  • Lead written communications with key stakeholders on behalf of the Assistant Superintendent

  • Maximize the Assistant Superintendents’ time and effectiveness: seamlessly manage their calendars through prioritizing appointments and arranging in-person and virtual meetings

  • Project manage Assistant Superintendents and Principals including creating project plans, managing task completion and project milestones to ensure progress to deadlines

  • Plan and support meetings and Professional Development sessions: manage logistics and operations, including the creation of meeting/sessions materials

  • Analyze key student achievement and staff data to strengthen academic action plans and instructional programs

  • Maintain internal systems to ensure the efficiency of the Assistant Superintendents, including expense reimbursements 

  • Local travel to schools or offices in Newark, NJ and occasional travel to our Home Office in New York City

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail

  • Strong ability to manage up

  • Receptive to feedback

Preferred Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with developing polished presentations in PowerPoint/Google Slides and manipulating data in Excel

Education Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required

Experience Requirements

  • 1-2 years of professional experience preferred

  • Experience in K12 education preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
