Job Description

Uncommon Schools is seeking a Social Media Manager in a contract role to help plan and increase the exposure of our network’s social media. The position will partner with the regional, media, and marketing teams to build and execute tailored social media plans that align with the network’s priority and targeted initiatives. The role will serve as a consultant as well as a content builder for the home office and 6 regions, each with unique needs and operating environments. The position is a member of the Marketing team and tasked to build 6-month plans to cover summer through the end of 2021.

Location: Remote (NYC area preferred)
Contract Length: 3 to 6 months (paid hourly)

Responsibilities

  • Team with regional, media and marketing partners to craft actionable social plans to both grow and maintain followers leveraging priorities, calendars and content sourcing.
  • Draft, review and execute ongoing and ad hoc social posts across existing and relevant platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Identify, collect and pursue ways in which to leverage content across multiple regions and the network as a whole.
  • Recommend resources and support the appropriate boosting and promotion of regional posts both within the plan and ad hoc opportunities.
  • Establish consistent communication and workstream structures with partners and content sourcing stakeholders
  • Support day-to-day management of social campaigns and build brand consistency
  • Build ongoing analysis, performance and reporting across platforms to recommend improvements, identify best practices and demonstrate reach/growth.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of social media management experience, ideally leading programs or platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field
  • Proficient using multi-social posting programs such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social
  • Knowledge of graphics and template programs like Canva.
  • Relevant experience determining a target audience and how to tailor campaigns to capture their attention
  • Strong understanding of social strategy and how to utilize concepts throughout various forms of outreach
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
