Team Overview

Uncommon’s Data & IT (D&IT) team is undergoing an exciting transformation to improve technology operations and systems! We are seeking a skilled Workday Report Writer with experience in large-scale Workday implementations, and management of reporting across functions in the system. This role will collaborate with all levels of the Talent, Accounting, Finance, IT, and school-based teams and will coordinate the planning, prioritization, and execution of the reporting workstream.

Role Overview

The System Analyst will support the Workday Reporting workstream, across functions including HCM, Talent, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, and Payroll, at Uncommon’s Home Office. They will bring technical expertise to the reporting process, from capturing reporting requirements to development and testing! They will also support others in writing reports, serve as a thought partner, and provide technical support. They will be responsible for collaborating with other Workday roles, the Data and IT team, and members of teams across the organization to ensure that the reports available in Workday can meet the needs of the organization.

 

Report Development

  • Responsible for all steps of report writing, including gathering requirements, designing, developing, and testing new reports
  • Develop reports of varying complexity, layouts, and analytics for business purposes

Technical expertise

  • Provide domain expertise on Workday Reporting standard methodologies
  • Become a Workday Reporting specialist with deep knowledge of current functionality and the Workday ecosystem design concepts
  • Identify new ways that Workday reporting can be used and future product direction

Training

  • Mentor others in report writing
  • Support the implementation and roll-out of new reports

Organizational Relationships

  • Work closely with functional throughout Uncommon, including HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Financials, and Talent, along with members of the Data and IT Team

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and change priorities as needed in a fast-paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with others, at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including translating sophisticated requirements
  • Experience in building and maintaining Workday reports, including calculated fields
  • Dedication to providing access to meaningful data
  • Demonstrable ability to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Experience with data extraction and crafting structured data sets
  • Solid understanding of SQL or other data specific programming languages
  • Workday certified

Minimum Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must have 3 years of demonstrated ability in a Workday reporting workstream, as part of a large-scale Workday implementation
  • Must have knowledge of the Workday ecosystem, including HCM, Finance, Benefits, Talent, Payroll, and Absence and Time Tracking
  • Experience collecting requirements, designing, prototyping, testing, and deploying solutions to meet partner requirements
