Job Description

The Regional Team Coordinator is a key member of the regional operations team. The Regional Team coordinator provides key administrative, logistical, and communication support to the New York City regional operations team and team initiatives. The RTC will also be responsible for management of regional team, school leader, and staff culture events and touchpoints. The position will report to the Senior Associate Director of School Support, and will work closely with members of the New York city regional operations and external teams, members of school support teams in other Uncommon regions, as well members of Uncommon’s home office teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the regional team offices including:
    • Building and implementing office (building) management processes
    • Executing visual culture plan
    • Managing regional office day to day including technology and general office and facilities management
  • School Support
    • Create and manage space reservations system for the region for both Brooklyn regional team and school spaces (if needed)
    • Provide operational support for school leader meetings and retreats
    • Organize medical exams, screenings, and events to support students and staff
    • Coordinate volunteers from Uncommon’s home office during key points over the course of the year
    • Send out invites to all regional leaders for annual calendars
  • Manage regional team and region-wide culture initiatives including:
    • Organize and implement cultural touchpoints for the regional operations team
    • Organize cultural touchpoints for DOOs and school ops teams
    • Organize and implement gifts for appreciation weeks (teacher, family, ops)
    • Manage regional leader gifts for key points throughout the year (start of school, holidays, state tests, etc.)
  • Perform general administrative support as needed for the regional operations team or regional ACOOs such as booking space, ordering food, preparing tech, taking notes, managing conference calls, etc. Additional duties and projects as needed and assigned in support of New York City schools

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • Minimum two years of professional experience, ideally in organizing, community engagement or other relevant work with schools and families in communities similar to those we serve.
  • Strong customer service approach and communication skills;
  • Passion for the mission of closing the achievement gap;
  • Displays maturity, flexibility, comfort with ambiguity and a sense of humor;
  • A desire to work on a high-performing team and take on additional projects, be creative, and propose new solutions;
  • High sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently; and
  • Quick and effective learner in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment that proactively seeks feedback to improve
