Job Description


The Associate Director for Talent Data and Strategy partners closely with the Senior Leadership of Uncommon's Talent Teams (Recruitment, Human Resources, and Talent Development) to drive and support strategic talent objectives and projects that span our teams. This role provides exposure to data management and analysis; communications and change management; and large-scale knowledge and project management within a fast-paced, growing organization.


Developing Structures & Systems

  • Support, and eventually lead, the development of knowledge and project management structures that span Talent teams
  • Lead the documentation and standardization of key processes and policies by building and managing knowledge centers across each of the Talent teams
  • Build, manage, and maintain Talent team data dashboards and data analysis tools
  • Manage, track, and analyze key metrics within the Talent teams’ service delivery model; prepare Senior Leaders to communicate findings and trends by developing (and in some cases delivering) presentations, synopses, etc. on an ongoing basis
  • Develop communications playbooks and replicable, scalable change management resources and protocols
  • Support the Talent teams’ senior leadership with organization and regional communications and change management plans, materials, and rollout



  • Strategic thinker with outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
  • At least three years of work experience, prior experience working in the social sector and or with talent teams is preferred;
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a knack for presenting data in compelling, digestible ways; a proven ability to analyze data and provide insights for recommendations, interventions, and process improvements
  • Experience with, or exposure to, Applicant Tracking and/or Human Resources Information systems
  • Ability to actively apply solutions to internal systems
  • Advanced computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio;
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and research skills; familiarity with task and project management tools a plus
  • Strong written communication skills with a focus on customer service
  • Passion for the mission of closing the achievement and opportunity gap;
  • A desire to work on a high-performing team and take on additional projects, be creative, and propose new solutions;
  • Quick and effective learner in a fast-paced, dynamic, ambitious environment that seeks constant improvement;
  • Strong time management skills and demonstrated ability to be self-directed, prioritize multiple workstreams, monitor progress towards goals, and utilize data and information to move the work forward;
