Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Administer WAPT assessment or other ESL screening assessments at direction of school leaders
  • Interpret test results and communicate to school leaders with instructional recommendations
  • Teach ESL students in small groups or individual sessions
  • Create lesson plans based on results of WAPT testing and classroom-based data to drive instruction, fluency, and mastery of English
  • Continuously collaborate with classroom teachers to support individual student needs
  • Support in administering statewide standardized assessment: ACCESS test

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling and implementation of school wide systems and culture
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Shows professionalism and acceptance of cultural differences in the school community
  • Applicant will need to provide three references from past or present ESL teaching positions
  • Approximately 10 hours per week; hours will need to be between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm
  • NJ ESL teaching certification required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required

COMPENSATION

  • Compensation is $40 an hour
