Please note, this role will be remote until at least June 2021, however the role will eventually be onsite at our offices in El Segundo, Los Angeles California.

Job Description

  • Create, communicate, and champion designs for select gameplay systems
  • Design rules and parameters for features and systems
  • Drive collaboration between all departments towards your designs
  • Implement, tune, and balance game systems, economies, and progression
  • Set priorities and objectives together with key stakeholders
  • Work closely with other disciplines to implement your designs
  • Iterate on playtest feedback to hone gameplay designs
  • Create concise documentation for game and feature requirements
  • Define the game’s core gameplay systems, design new features, and take an active role in product reviews



  • 4+ years of experience designing gameplay systems for multiplayer action games
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4
  • Hands-on experience designing systems and balancing gameplay mechanics
  • Deep and nuanced understanding of RPG and progression systems from modern AAA offerings
  • Intimate understanding of elder game player motivations and drives
  • Good instinct for tuning and balancing
  • Comfortable with technical implementation; using game editors, scripting languages and tools
  • Deep understanding of multiplayer gaming modes and systems
  • Enjoys problem-solving within a creative team
  • Independent, proactive, and driven, detailed, flexible, and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain familiarity with current games market and consumer interest
  • Passion for playing games and understanding the systems that drive them
