Job Description

Join our Global Expertise Center Infrastructure (GEC‑INF) and contribute to strengthening Doka’s future position in tunnel formwork solutions worldwide. 
As a Junior / Project Designer – Tunnel Formwork, you will support the global engineering team in the technical execution of tunnel projects, gradually building up in‑depth system and product expertise. 
In this role, you will learn GEC‑specific tasks through a structured onboarding and development plan and apply your knowledge directly in real tunnel projects. Working closely with experienced engineers and product experts, you will support both the acquisition and order phases while developing your technical competence through a learning‑by‑doing approach.

Purpose of the Function

  • Strengthen Doka’s future position in tunnel formwork by supporting global engineering and project activities within GEC‑INF.
  • Develop long‑term technical and system expertise in tunnel formwork through structured learning and practical project work.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and specialize in GEC‑specific tunnel formwork tasks with the support of a structured onboarding program and an individual development plan.
  • Execute delegated tasks carefully, accurately, and within agreed timelines, applying a learning‑by‑doing mindset.
  • Support senior engineers and project designers in daily tunnel project activities.
  • Gradually build technical understanding and independence in tunnel formwork systems and applications.

Tasks

Project Work – Acquisition Phase

  • Preparation of offer drawings for tunnel formwork solutions.
  • Creation of offer material lists and basic technical documentation. 

Project Work – Order Phase

  • Preparation of pre‑assembly drawings for tunnel formwork systems.
  • Creation of assembly drawings in coordination with project and site requirements.
  • Support in preparing production drawings in collaboration with engineering and production teams. 

Strategic & Product‑Related Tasks

  • Support roadmap topics related to tunnel formwork systems.
  • Assist in collecting technical inputs, lessons learned, and feedback from projects to support continuous product and system development.

Qualifications

  • Education level apprentice, HTL, FH, or University
  • First experience or strong interest in tunnel construction, underground works, or formwork systems.
  • Good 3D CAD skills (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, or comparable tools).
  • Structured working style and high willingness to learn complex technical systems.
  • Good communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
  • Team‑oriented, motivated, and comfortable working in an international engineering environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally at a later stage of development.

A salary in line with the market is offered for this position, which is based on the specific qualification and adequate professional experience.

We are required by law to state a minimum salary. The minimum annual gross salary for this position is EUR 48,918.98 according to the collective agreement (woodworking industry) on full-time basis 38.5 hours/week.
