Job Description

As an IoT Hardware Specialist, you are a key technical driver for robust, scalable, and production-ready IoT hardware solutions – from concept to industrialization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, development, and support of innovative IoT hardware solutions (sensors, embedded systems, communication modules)
  • Selection, evaluation, and integration of electronic components (MCUs, sensors, radio modules, power management) into IoT solutions
  • Circuit design, layout supervision, and prototype development
  • Planning and execution of testing, verification, and certifications (e.g., CE, RED)
  • Close collaboration with firmware, cloud, and software teams throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Support in industrialization, series production transfer, and supplier selection
  • Analysis of field data to continuously improve existing products
  • Preparation of technical documentation and active knowledge transfer within the organization

 

Qualifications

  • Completed technical education (technical college, university of applied sciences, or university degree) in electrical engineering, mechatronics, electronics, embedded systems, or a comparable field
  • Several years of experience in IoT or embedded hardware development
  • Strong expertise in at least one of the following areas:
    • Microcontroller and embedded hardware design
    • Wireless technologies (e.g., BLE, LTE-M, NB-IoT, LoRa)
    • Low-power design and power supply concepts
  • Solid understanding of the interaction between hardware, firmware, and cloud systems
  • Structured, solution-oriented, and independent working style
  • Strong team spirit and very good German and English skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with product certifications (CE, RED, etc.)
  • Background in industrial environments or development of robust outdoor products
  • Experience with series production and electronics supply chain management
  • Practical experience with schematic and PCB layout tools as well as prototyping methods

A salary in line with the market is offered for this position, which is based on the specific qualification and adequate professional experience.

We are required by law to state a minimum salary. The minimum annual gross salary for this position is € 47.587,- according to the collective agreement (woodworking industry).
