Job Description
The Doka business area Northern & Latin America (NAMLAM) manages legal entities in the USA & Canada, as well as in México, Panamá, Colombia, Perú and Chile. Further, we partner with local distributors in Brazil. Area Team for NAMLAM serves as the central hub for critical functions including sales, engineering, operations, controlling, HR, and procurement. Established to provide a versatile network of products, systems, and expertise, Doka NAMLAM oversees some of the world's fastest-growing economies which positions Doka as an ideal partner for diverse projects, from major infrastructure developments like metro systems, bridges, and tunnels to residential housing projects.
The Executive Vice President (EVP) NAMLAM, leading the NAMLAM executive team, is responsible for further growth and strategic development of the area with full P&L responsibility. The CEO USA and Canada as well as the Regional Director Latin America - managing the corresponding country organizations - report directly to this position. Further, he/she oversees the Distribution Centre, our logistics hub, with 2 locations in the USA. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing local entities within a corporate structure. Developing, coaching and steering your direct reports to ensure they are given the resources & opportunities needed to succeed and grow is key. This ensures that the countries realize all revenue opportunities and strengthen the company’s market position.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction industry, strong leadership skills, and a resilient competence in P&L management. A thorough understanding of the US business is pivotal for this position, thus, we especially address leaders who are currently living in the US or have lived there for several years. This position will initially be based in Austria and will involve frequent travel into the countries of NAMLAM. In line with the business strategy, there is a possibility to change location in the future.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in the entire NAMLAM area to achieve the company goals - this includes overseeing the strategy and planning process
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding the company’s market presence and client base
- Full P&L responsibility for the entire NAMLAM area
- Manage and optimize the division's P&L, driving profitability through effective cost management, resource allocation, and financial oversight
- Coordinate the pricing policy and definition of financing needs together with the Managing Directors
- Act as a role model and continuously live and represent Doka’s strategy, values, leadership culture and code of conduct including local laws and regulations
- Drive, develop and coach the area management team to foster a collaborative and result-driven work environment
- Steer, coach and act as a sparring partner for the Managing Directors of the NAMLAM area in any topics related to their business such as sales, logistics, processes, organizational development, people & culture
- Carry out the qualitative and quantitative personnel planning
- Ensure effective and efficient processes by coordinating the sustainable development of internal processes
- Monitor sales activities within the NAMLAM area with a special focus on USA & Canada
- Initiate and coordinate the development of new subsidiaries as well as restructuring of certain entities
- Build up and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both, internally within the company as well as externally
- Participate in the Corporate Management Meeting to collaborate on group-wide topics together with other EVPs and the Doka Executive Board
Qualifications
- Substantial international management experience within the formwork, construction or building material industry in the NAMLAM area
- Thorough understanding of managing revenue, cost and profitability
- Proven track record of managing P&L responsibilities of organizations of similar size and complexity
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans
- Experience in Sales Management and/or Business Development in the NAMLAM area
- Proven success in restructuring organizations and managing turnarounds in global organizations
- Strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Mature leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead diverse teams
- Cross-cultural understanding and ability to adjust to a volatile and fast-changing environment
- Ability to work as an organized team player in a results-driven, fast-paced environment
- Proactive personality with a high level of energy, self-awareness and the ability of generating impact

- Excellent skills in English, Spanish is advantageous

Additional Information
The minimum annual gross salary for this position is according to the collective agreement (woodworking industry). For this position we offer a salary in line with the market based on the specific qualification and adequate professional experience.
