    Job Description

    Responsible for planning temporary access requirements in line with the routine maintenance schedule and developing designs and installation work packages for scaffolds and where applicable, alternative means of access. The incumbent shall work closely with the Purchaser’s planning & scheduling department and pay close attention to simplicity of design, multi-trade access solutions, and commonality of design for repeat temporary access structures.

    Qualifications

    • Provides detailed support in the scheduling and planning of temporary access requirements in conjunction with the Purchaser’s planning & scheduling department and Planning Contractor’s Sr. Access SME
    • Manages and updates Planning Contractor’s planning and scheduling systems, and interfaces where required with external planning & scheduling resources and systems;
    • Participates and provides progress updates & input in access and resource planning meetings on a daily/weekly basis with all relevant interfaces
    • Works closely with the Sr. Access SME in supporting the identification and tagging of temporary access requirements in the Purchaser’s 3D model (if applicable) and ensures accuracy of model files and updates where required;
    • Produces detailed installation work packages and estimates for maintenance, project and turnaround work with supporting designs including resource and material requirements;
    • Participates in field verification when possible to ensure accurate layout of drawings, clash detection assumptions, etc.;
    • Performs static load checking on 3D modelled temporary access structures to ensure designs are within manufacture’s recommended use and comply with all OSHA guidelines;
    • Produces detailed 3D and 2D drawings of of temporary access structures in a computer aided design (CAD) environment;
    • Ensures simplicity of design, multi-trade access solutions, and commonality of design for repetitive or routine temporary access structures.
    • Prioritizes safety considerations when designing temporary access structures with special attention paid to working at heights mitigation, removing trip hazards, fall prevention, and minimization of componentry;
    • Applies a combination of field-based knowledge, and engineering & compliance requirements to analyze the structural integrity of designs;
    • Assesses potential hazards when designing and eliminate where possible within the design process and/or proposes effective control measures for the reduction and elimination of risks;
    • Updates design registers with all relevant design, technical and administrative related information;
    • Assists in updating and the management of data in the Planning Contractor’s management program (Hi-Vis®); and
    • Provide SME support and general project support to the Sr. Access SME as and when required.
