Job Description

The General Yard Assistant reports to the DC Management team.  He/she is responsible for their specifically assigned, hands on tasks ensuring accuracy and efficiency of the work performed and ensuring that safety and quality standards are upheld and maintained within the yard.  Such Duties Include but are not limited to:

• Supporting of loading trucks as per loading plan
• Supporting unloading of containers or trucks in a safe manner without damage to materials
• Supporting order picking and packaging using our material storage software
• Material reconditioning activities
• Performing Housekeeping activities
• Inventory counting

Working Conditions

Working conditions will significantly vary (extreme outdoor temperatures/inclement weather conditions), high noise level in certain areas. These positions are physically demanding on a routine basis.

• Experience in a shipping yard is a plus, minimum 3 months of experience
• Willing and able to Learn New Products, Concepts and Techniques
• Able to work in a Fast-Paced Environment
