Summary of Position:

 

Responsible for leading, coaching and developing the Engineering activities of Doka USA in accordance with the policies, goals, and objectives established by Doka USA executive management teams.  This responsibility includes proactively supporting to develop the engineering capabilities, technical knowledge, processes and resources of the Doka business(s) within the country. In alignment with the Doka USA strategy, this person participates in the formulation and implementation of the regional objectives to ensure optimization of the engineering process including establishment and implementation of specific action plans to achieve these objectives. Strategic development two direct reports and indirect oversight for more than one hundred engineering and technical employees.

This person reports directly to the CEO of Doka USA.

  • Lead, coach, guide and develop the overall engineering activities and engineering leaders within the country.
  • Responsible for the organizational development of the engineering teams and engineering quality within the country.
  • Leads and develops the professional and social competencies of the national and branch engineering leaders.
  • Together with the national and branch engineering teams, expand the technical knowledge and ensure proactive development of sufficient engineering resources to support business and future growth.
  • To act as a role model and to be the promoter of Doka Culture, principles of management, code of conduct and building team culture.
  • To develop talents and ensure sufficient competencies for key functions at all times.
  • Ensuring appropriate management of company assets and facilities.
  • Maintaining an awareness of, and exercising judgment in appropriate use of, such areas as health and safety standards, national engineering codes and regulations and quality standards in accordance with company, governmental, legislative and regulatory matters.
  • Utilizing a “hands-on” style directs and generally supervises activities of the country, including, but not limited to, the engineering activities of the business with the objective of sustainable profitable growth and people development.

Other Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions:

  • Support the development of internal standards and processes.
  • Implement the strategy for the country and branch and drive the roll out and adoption of new topics.
  • Ensures compliance to standards and procedures and actively builds the culture of safety in all products.
  • Support in defining the product strategy for each country.
  • Proactively monitor markets for new and improved technologies and provide inputs for product improvements.

·       Preferred networking committee in the industry –related organization

  • Develops and/or coordinates the use of assessment systems and company management programs / tools while considering company standards.  
  • Proficient computer skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors / Master’s Degree in Engineering (construction, structural, civil, or mechanical required) or related equivalent experience.
  • 15 or more years’ experience in engineering and/or experience in concrete forming and shoring practices. Doka experience is a plus.
  • At least five years of active leadership experience.
  • Comprehensive construction-specific practical experience (building construction, site or project management).
  • Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain a PE license a plus.
  • Possesses the knowledge to produce and/or review engineering analysis and calculations by applying the fundamentals of engineering and principles of design.
  • Excellent communication skills including excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Organized team player with strong leadership skills and excellent time management skills. Works and motivates staff to work productively in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of U.S. regulations, local and national codes, legislation and trends that affect the formwork industry.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30-40%.
