Job Description

The Support Desk Engineer is responsible for providing expert guidance to Concremote users around the world. The Support Desk Engineer provides explanation, training and coaching of Concremote products and services to users, Key-users and Business Developers. As a Support Desk Engineer you are ‘the spider in the web’.

Concremote is a real-time cost-saving information system and decision-making tool for the construction site and in the (precast) concrete plant. The system measures the maturity of the concrete and the environmental conditions via digital sensors and calculates the real-time strength development.

The Support Desk Engineer is the contact person for Concremote users, Key-users, Business Developers, laboratories and concrete suppliers. The Support Desk Engineer supports the users, customers and colleagues in the worldwide construction projects through the web portal, email and telephone. He/she also participates in international meetings on site or online. The Support Desk Engineer is through his/her many contacts with Key-users a sparring partner for product development regarding extensions and improvements and the testing thereof.

You will be engaged in the following activities on a daily basis:

  • Serve as the contact person for problems of technical nature (e.g., when using the web portal or sensors) towards customers, employees, or other users. Analysing and resolving the problem and informing the person of the solution and progress in a complete and timely manner;
  • Ensuring that Concremote projects run smoothly in consultation with Concremote Support colleagues;
  • Preparation and supervision of concrete calibrations. You are in contact with laboratories and users all over the world;
  • Instruct, train and coach Concremote portal users. (e.g., Key-users and Business Developers);
  • Supporting Account Managers and Business Development in the technical (commercial) marketing of Concremote products and services, and other products and services of Concrefy;
  • Achieve effective internal communication (both formal and informal);
  • Reporting to the supervisor, solicited and unsolicited;
  • Performing daily checks to identify problems early;
  • Working on telephone and on-call shifts;
  • Visiting (international) customers to make adjustments or improvements on site;
  • Proactively contributing to the improvement and optimization of (the application of) the Concremote system by recording the gained knowledge and experience and to share it with Key-users and Business Developers;
  • Making and testing concrete cubes in the laboratory;
  • Develop and test (new) features and releases.

Qualifications

  • You have a higher professional education (hbo) work and thinking level;
  • You have knowledge of concrete (technology), are an expert and have experience with the processing of concrete;
  • You have knowledge of ICT and technology;
  • You have a good command of the English language verbally and in writing. Command of German, Dutch and other languages is a benefit;
  • You have completed a construction engineering course, preferably in the field of Concrete Technology;
  • You have (some) years of work experience in construction, preferably technical (commercial);
  • You are willing to work (telephone) on-call shifts in the evenings and weekends (in alternation with your colleagues);
  • Anticipating unexpected situations and thereby supporting others is no problem for you;
  • You can handle stress and adapt easily, you are flexible, customer-oriented and always open to learn and collaborate;
  • You are characterized as an efficient and successful employee;
  • You continuously improve yourself and your team in terms of content and process by learning and sharing new innovative developments and experiences.
