As Area Procurement Manager you are responsible for building up the area procurement organization from scratch aiming at addressing business needs. In this position you report directly to the Global Procurement Director. Among other tasks you are responsible for:

• Be a business partner for sales, production, quality, supply network and technical department
• Build up and manage the procurement team 
• Develop and implement the procurement sourcing strategies
• Act as key point of contact on all matters related to the product category
• Manage existing supply base
• Implement the category strategy and communicate to relevant internal partners
• Conduct negotiations and tenders yourself

We are searching for a proactive and flexible person with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to address challenges in a constructive manner. In addition we look for the following qualifications:

• Graduate degree in the area of economics or technic
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role and an excellent understanding of procurement processes
• Profound experience in developing strategies
• Ability to implement global standards at a regional level and be hands-on on operational agendas
• Experience in the fields of metal, indirect spend and freight
• Excellent English skills, Spanish and/or German would be considered as an advantage
• Willingness to travel (~50 %), especially in the USA, Canada and Latin America (as soon as the situation allows it again )
