Ultiworld is the leading news media organization in disc sports (ultimate frisbee and disc golf). From deep reporting to incisive analysis to live video production, Ultiworld is at the forefront of content creation in the fast-growing disc sports world.

We are seeking a writer and reporter based in Raleigh-Durham (or elsewhere in North Carolina) interested in tournament coverage (college, club, and/or youth). In-person event reporting is the backbone of our news coverage.

You will be responsible for following the stories during an event, interviewing players and coaches, providing periodic score updates, and writing preview and recap coverage.

You will work with other Ultiworld reporters and editors to deliver coverage of the events you attend with the option of working on additional writing projects, features, and more.

The position requires some ability to work weekends during events and could involve paid travel.

- Strong writing skills are required, but reporting experience is not. We can teach you the ropes!

- Having good connections in your local ultimate community is a plus

- A solid understanding of ultimate game play and strategy is required
