Job Description

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Under general direction from the Supply Chain Manager, perform several duties related to purchasing, supplier management, inventory maintenance, and report management.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(The essential duties and responsibilities listed below are not all encompassing.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned consistent with business requirements.)

  • Prepare PO documents and transmit to vendor;
  • Review Purchase Order Acknowledgements and Update Schedules in Axiom
  • Expedite Purchase Orders as necessary
  • Manage outside processing;
  • Work with technical and quality groups to resolve supplier discrepancies
  • Review and update tag information for layout and certification;
  • Occasional travel to vendors and toll processors to develop interpersonal relationships;
  • Maintain supplier verification procedures;
  • Review and approve invoices;
  • Maintain Axiom data (PRPN, Adding P-Parts, etc.);
  • Participation and leadership in Lean Culture, safety, and A3 Teams;
  • Ensure the receipt of complete, accurate and legible steel certifications from the vendor at the time of shipment;
  • Maintain approved vendor records, on-time performance records, purchasing manual, and packaging specs with direction from Quality and Materials Managers;
  • Perform metric conversions on vendor documentation when required;
  • Perform heat input duties and tag test results to enhance Purchasing, Quality and Receiving functions;
  • Support for Supply Chain Manager responsibilities when required;
  • Maintain Purchasing Board with accurate supplier lead-times and additional information as instructed;
  • Regular attendance at work is required.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma, GED or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience within a diversified administrative support function requiring strong attention to detail and good basic math skills
  • Proficiency in the use and application of Microsoft Office suite, particularly spreadsheets
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability seek out accurate information or obtain clarification in a high volume environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment depending upon the task
  • Desire to understand our product at a technical level and to understand how the Materials Department interacts with all the other departments at Ulbrich of Illinois
  • Regular attendance is an essential requirement for this position
