Job Description

We currently have an immediate opening for Sr. Systems Administrator at the Ulbrich corporate office in North Haven, CT. The Sr. Systems Administrator will configure internal systems, diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, recommend upgrades to the network infrastructure, monitor the performance of servers, software and hardware and ensure the smooth deployment of new applications.  This is a full-time position with a hybrid remote/onsite position.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical and administrative support for servers/applications (OS Support including Microsoft Server, AIX, Linux and VMWare ESXi.
  • Support of business applications such as Citrix, O365 and other common packages).
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software in use to maximize efficiency of the network and users’ utilization of them.
  • Provide written documentation regarding network functionality, utilization and issues.
  • Troubleshoots LAN and associated assemblies to provide high quality service to end-users.
  • Support Microsoft & Linux Server Administration, Active Directory - Users/Groups, Delegation, GPO's, VMWare ESXi, Citrix , O365 including Exchange Online, Proofpoint (or comparable spam filter), Log Management/SIEM, and Scripting/Automation.
  • Assist with cybersecurity program. 
  • Help align with NIST and other requirements.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus a minimum of 5 years similar experience. Excellent communication skills to include face-to-face, telephone, & written communications are necessary. Strong problem-solving skills. Knowledge of scripting language, solid understanding of LAN/WAN networks, and system security techniques.
