Job Description

Located in the south suburbs of Chicago, Ulbrich of Illinois, a subsidiary of Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals, Inc., seeks a full-time Supply Chain Analyst with experience in a manufacturing setting. Primary responsibilities will include, maintaining and analyzing data on quantity, cost, and various materials ordered, received, stocked, and shipped. 

Specific areas of responsibilities include:

  • Review daily Sales Intake Report to assess inventory impact and recommend actions;
  • Generate requisitions with material information and purchase orders for suppliers;
  • Maintain steel vendor acknowledgement system;
  • Communicate anticipated delays that may impact production schedule and/or on-time delivery;
  • Expedite supplier purchase orders;
  • Meet profit and pricing expectations;
  • Manage supplier performance reports;
  • Participate in the development of purchasing system and maintenance of purchasing data;
  • Obtain vendor quotes on new sales items;
  • Analyze aging, obsolete and excess inventory and recommend disposition;
  • Perform metric conversion on vendor documents;
  • Ensure the receipt of complete, accurate and legible steel certifications;
  • Manage outside processing function;
  • Maintain approved vendor records, purchasing manual, and packaging specs; and
  • Communicate with Materials Manager to enhance department performance.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field, plus a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment preferably in purchasing; strong attention to detail and good math skills; excellent organizational and communication skills; solid computer skills including proficiency with MS Word/Excel; strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated; and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
