Job Description
Snowdrop is a powerful game engine that enables Ubisoft content creators to set their creative minds free. Fast and flexible, Snowdrop gives developers innovative tools designed from the ground up for creating the unknown.

Working in our Online team, part of the Snowdrop Multiplayer and Online Domain in Bucharest, your primary focus will be on developing and maintaining game servers, ensuring high performance and reliability, with expertise in game server coding, DevOps, Linux, and shell scripting. As an Online Programmer you will bring strong technical skills in backend development, DevOps practices, Linux systems, and proficiency in C/C++. You will have the opportunity to work on the tech and impact important projects built upon the Snowdrop engine, working with our team here and the Domain Technical Director.
What you'll do:
- Develop and maintain online systems within the Snowdrop engine to support multiplayer features and live services.
- Collaborate with game teams to integrate networking, matchmaking, session management, and backend services.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of online features across platforms.
- Work closely with other Ubisoft teams to extend Snowdrop’s online capabilities.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of new online features and tools
Qualifications
What you'll bring as technical skills
- Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with network programming.
- Familiarity with multiplayer game architecture, including client-server and peer-to-peer models.
- Experience with online service APIs (e.g., REST, WebSocket, gRPC).
- Knowledge of network debugging tools and performance profiling.
- Understanding of security best practices for online games (e.g., anti-cheat, data validation).
- Experience with console and PC platforms, including bandwidth and latency constraints.

- Used to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical parties
