Job Description

As a Build and Release Specialist at Ubisoft Toronto, you will help design, improve, and maintain the build and deployment pipelines that support our game development teams. Working in a modern technical environment, the Build and Release Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that builds, tools, and systems are reliable, scalable, and easy for production teams to use. You will support daily development needs while helping production and project submissions run smoothly.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain and evolve build pipelines to deliver stable and reliable builds to production teams.
  • Troubleshoot build, pipeline, and infrastructure issues, prioritizing and escalating when needed.
  • Manage and support version control systems such as Perforce and Git across projects.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to multi-disciplinary development teams.
  • Integrate and improve tools and services to meet evolving production needs.
  • Coordinate large-scale migrations and integrations, clearly communicating impacts and timelines.
  • Prepare platform builds and packages, including console submissions and management.
  • Evaluate new technologies and best practices to strengthen build and release workflows.

Qualifications

What you bring to the team

  • Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or TeamCity.
  • Strong understanding of deployment tools and artifact management, including Docker, Kubernetes, NuGet, or Artifactory.
  • Experience working with cloud environments and infrastructure.
  • Solid knowledge of version control workflows using Git, Perforce, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or batch scripting.
  • Familiarity with C++ or other low-level languages is an asset.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across diverse technical teams.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
