About the Role

Join the Ubisoft AI Initiatives team and architect the future of the information lifecycle at Ubisoft. From advanced hybrid search and RAG pipelines to complex, agentic reasoning, we are engineering the tools that turn raw information into high-velocity decision-making. We are looking for an AI Software Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing Scrum team of AI engineers delivering AI‑powered software products and platforms.

This role is responsible for building, growing, and enabling a professional AI engineering team, while ensuring stable delivery, strong collaboration with Product Management, and effective use of AI in day‑to‑day software development.

Beyond delivery, this role plays a key part in building an AI‑augmented engineering organization, where AI technologies are deeply embedded into development workflows, team practices, and engineering culture.

Responsibilities

  • People & Team Leadership
    • Lead, coach, and develop a high performing‑ Scrum AI engineering team, fostering a culture of trust, ownership, and continuous improvement.
    • Own people management responsibilities, including performance feedback, career development, goal setting, and talent growth.
    • Support team members in their professional development, helping them grow as AI native‑ software engineers.
    • Build a strong team identity and ensure sustainable team health, motivation, and engagement.
  • Delivery & Scrum Execution
    • Ensure smooth and effective execution of Scrum ceremonies and sprint activities, including planning, execution, review, and retrospectives.
    • Help the team clearly understand product requirements, technical expectations, and delivery goals.
    • Actively remove blockers, resolve issues, and support the team in delivering high-quality‑ software on time.
    • Balance delivery requirements with team capacity, ensuring realistic commitments and sustainable pace.
  • Product & Planning Collaboration
    • Partner closely with Product Managers to:
      • Translate product vision and requirements into executable delivery plans
      • Contribute to product roadmap and release planning
      • Align scope, priorities, and timelines with available engineering capacity
    • Act as a bridge between product, engineering, and stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • AI A‑ugmented Engineering Practices
    • Help build and scale an AI empowered‑ software engineering team, where AI is a natural part of daily work.
    • Drive the adoption of AI tools and practices in software development, including:
      • AI assisted‑ coding
      • AI supported‑ testing and quality assurance
      • AI generated‑ documentation and knowledge sharing
    • Encourage experimentation and learning around AI native‑ development practices that improve efficiency, quality, and developer experience.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration
    • Collaborate with other engineering and platform teams to align practices, share learnings, and scale AI engineering capabilities across the organization.
    • Contribute to broader engineering standards, delivery practices, and team level‑ improvements.

Qualifications

We are seeking a seasoned professional with a strong technical background and a passion for building world-class AI applications.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering management or people leadership role.
  • Experience leading Scrum or Agile development teams.
  • Handson experience delivering AI / LLM powered software products (e.g., Chat, Agents, RAG, workflow automation).
  • Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum practices, sprint execution, and delivery management.
  • Proven ability to balance people management, delivery execution, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with Product Managers and cross‑functional partners
  • Curiosity and continuous learning mindset around AI trends.
  • Comfortable partnering with AI specialists and engineers, and translating AI concepts into execution‑level priorities for the team.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience building or scaling AI‑focused engineering teams.
  • Hands‑on experience leading or managing teams delivering agent‑based or agentic AI systems
  • Experience driving engineering practice or culture improvements, not just feature delivery.
