Job Description
Job summary -
Role combines the responsibilities of bridging the gap between creative vision and technical execution. The role will focus on procedural content creation, Asset integration, while ensuring assets meet the highest technical standards, are optimized, and align with art guidelines. The position requires proficiency in problem-solving and a deep understanding of integrating assets into Game engines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Optimization: Ensure art assets are optimized for performance, quality, and scalability, while maintaining a balance with visual fidelity.
- Collaboration Across Departments: Work closely with art, technical, and design teams to ensure seamless integration of procedural assets, 3D assets into the game engine.
- Technical Support for Game Design Teams: Provide troubleshooting and support related to asset integration, simulations, and performance.
- Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Identify technical problems in asset integration and pipeline development, and provide solutions to improve workflow efficiency.
- Custom Tool Development: Develop custom tools for various DCC (Digital Content Creation) software, such as 3DSMax, Maya, and Houdini, to optimize the pipeline.
- Build Intuitive Interfaces and Tools: Design user-friendly tools that allow non-technical team members to effectively leverage procedural assets within the game engine.
- Develop & Maintain Procedural Asset Workflows: Design and maintain efficient procedural asset workflows for simulations.
- Documentation: Create clear documentation for processes, tools, and workflows to ensure smooth knowledge transfer across teams.
- Implement Innovative Solutions: Drive efficiency and visual quality improvements for procedural art assets and game systems.
- Performance Optimization: Familiarity with profiling tools to identify and resolve performance issues in real-time environments, addressing memory usage, frame rates, and asset loading times (is plus).
- Training and Support: Provide training to artists, designers, and other team members on related tools within the design pipeline.
Qualifications
- 3D Software: Familiarity with at least one major 3D software such as 3DS Max, Maya, or Blender.
- Scripting: Knowledge of Python, Maxscript (C# is plus).
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address technical issues.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and technical teams.
- Houdini : Experience with Houdini and node-based procedural workflows for creating simulations and dynamic content is a plus.
- Visual Aesthetic Understanding: A strong eye for visual aesthetics, ensuring procedural content aligns with the overall game style and maintains visual coherence.
