Job Description

Snowdrop is a powerful game engine that enables Ubisoft content creators to set their creative minds free. We are looking for a Technical Level Designer with a strong technical skill-set and drive, to join our Snowdrop team. In this role, you'll contribute by creating and implementing complex technical system design elements into the engine with an end-user development mindset while acting as a technical reference for team members on the project.  

We’re offering a permanent position in Malmö, Sweden, with the flexibility to work partially from home (up to two days a week) under our Flexible Workplace Policy. Please apply using English, our company’s primary language.  

What you’ll do  

  • Identify and solve pipeline tool inefficiencies and contribute to develop the best level tools to enhance and facilitate the work of design teams. 
  • Be the bridge in providing maximum flexibility for content creators and reducing dependency on engineering. 
  • Script and implement game features while ensuring cleanliness, structure and stability of the project data. 
  • Establish and share best practices relating to content design. 
  • Provide tutorials and guides of project tools and pipelines. 

Qualifications

We are looking for a curious and open Technical Level Designer. You are comfortable working autonomously and can present your ideas in a clear way. You thrive when improving current processes with your technical knowledge and motivation to understand how things work. You are comfortable collaborating within a multidisciplinary team where you can each utilize your niche expertise to achieve a higher quality together. Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:  

  • Professional experience withing Tech Level Design, ideally including at least one AAA game development cycle.
  • Technical knowledge of editors, node-based visual scripting, debugging, and optimization.
  • Experience working with programmers and designers to create and improve design implementation pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Snowdrop is a plus, though not required, as it is our in-house engine.
