Job Description

Within International HQ, Ubisoft's Legal department comprises lawyers working in their respective fields of expertise: intellectual property, music law, personal data, digital law, etc. These legal experts are in constant contact with Ubisoft’s operational teams, and represent veritable business partners for them. As a Trainee Legal Officer within the Game Production team based in our new Saint-Mandé HQ, you will be involved in what makes Ubisoft so unique: its content. Your work will entail resolving equations with the business and production teams, and finding the answers – seldom black or white – to complex questions... Highly enthusiastic people from around the world, and of different cultures, seeking to find the next innovative breakthrough in game development and player experience will become your preferred partners and will turn to you for legal advice that goes beyond the limits of current or foreseeable rules. Upstream, together with your manager, you will strive to identify the best strategy, assess and manage the risks, and provide your help to implement the best solutions.

 For this purpose, you will notably be required to:

·         Provide assistance to all the creative teams throughout the world in collaboration with your legal department colleagues;

·         Take part in drafting all types of contracts, in English and French, for various contractual relationships and in the scope of game development, including confidentiality agreements, service contracts or licence agreements;

·         Prepare memorandums on various topics, including intellectual property law and trademark law;

·         Provide Ubisoft’s production teams with practical advice by explaining and communicating on the legal concepts they may be dealing with.


·         As a student in higher education, you are graduating in Intellectual Property and have a strong interest for the videogames industry (either as a gamer or a follower);

·         You have a first successful experience in a law firm or in a company, ideally related to gaming or Entertainment industries;

·         You are able to communicate orally and in writing in English, and ideally in French too – most of your daily work will be in English;

·         Naturally curious, you do not hesitate to spontaneously go and get information on subjects that you do not necessarily master. More generally, you are known for your excellent interpersonal skills, and your motivation. Business partner, you know how to deal with operational teams

How does the recruitment process work?

During the recruitment process, you could also have to complete a case study or meet your next n + 2 and some of your future colleagues.
