Ketchapp is a leading publisher of hypercasual mobile video games, acquired by Ubisoft in 2016. The Studio is currently in fast development and looking for its Technical Director

Job Description

As Technical Director, you will work closely with the technical team, and with all of the studio departments in a transversal way. The Technical Director will set the standard for technical work within the studio and lead, develop and motivate the technical team to suit the studio needs and participate in its development. Possessing a robust knowledge of various technologies, the Technical Director will also be responsible for selecting and promoting appropriate technologies for use within the studio, as well as participate in the production of solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understand needs of Production, Publishing and User Acquisition & Monetization teams,
    Needs are related to mobile SDKs on Unity, data, in-game frameworks & plugins, automation, web tools & interface, …
  • Find & develop adapted solutions that will improve and enhance our production and our business,
  • Manage the development process and identify the programming tasks and time estimates,
  • Ensure that each solution is being built with a productive methodology and solid coding practices, technical briefs, code reviews, keeping in mind long term quality and future code sharing between projects,
  • Identify technical risks on projects and develop contingency plans to implement with the team,
  • Maintain positive working relationships with Ubisoft teams to enhance the use of shared technologies,

Team Management

  • Demonstrate good leadership, charisma, enthusiasm and sense of commitment,
  • Manage the performance of the technical team staff and manage direct reports (potentially based in another location),
  • Take responsibility for recruitment, on-boarding, development and professional training of the technical team,

Qualifications

 

  • Result-oriented mindset,
  • At least 10 years programming experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineers, or equivalent,
  • Excellent management and communication skills,
  • A good knowledge of programming languages, especially Unity, and software engineering practices,
  • Experience with modern mobile development on iOS and Android platforms,
  • A good track record of tools and features developed in various domain,
  • Enthusiasm for hyper-casual mobile market, and its specificities,

  • Leadership experience, in the games industry,
  • Knowledge of ads monetization / mediation environment,
