Job Description

We are seeking a leader for our outsourced engineering team to play a key role in development of our new platform user interface and user experience. The role will be player coach initially and will be the leading frontend developer on our team, you’ll work closely with product managers, product design, and full-stack development team members to deliver a seamless, responsive, and visually compelling UI. Our ideal candidate has a proven track record enhancing B2B SaaS product experiences, strong communication skills, and the ambition to grow leadership skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead frontend development for our platform's UI/UX refresh using React, focusing on performance, responsiveness, and accessibility.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and development leads to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Coordinate with outsourced development teams, ensuring smooth handoffs and quality integration.

  • Build reusable, scalable components and front-end libraries to ensure maintainability and clean architecture.

  • Stay up-to-date with trends and best practices in frontend development and the React ecosystem.

  • Mentor and guide junior frontend developers as the team expands.

  • Contribute to code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and best practices.

  • Drive innovation in frontend technology and processes.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on React and modern JavaScript frameworks.

  • Experience with some or all of the following React libraries desirable: Axios, Zod, Tailwind/Catalyst, NextJs.

  • Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.

  • Experience working in hybrid team models and agile scrum environments.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with product, design, and backend development teams.

  • Proficient with version control (Git, Mercurial), build tools, and continuous integration.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and frontend performance optimization techniques.

  • Knowledge and understanding of web development security best practices (CSP, XSS, Logging practices, local storage)

  • Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices and accessibility standards.

  • Experience working with or leading outsourced development teams is a plus.

  • Desire to grow into a leadership role as the internal team expands.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, remote position with an annual base salary of $120-180K plus variable compensation.
