Job Description

Purpose

The Facilities department overseas the management and maintenance of physical assets at our locations around the world. This includes providing new buildings, test tracks and equipment to support business growth, as well as managing existing assets, office space, utilities, the cleaning and the maintenance of our existing assets.  

The department is also responsible for Environmental compliance ensuring we meet the requirements of ISO14001 and our CSR obligations.  

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work and learn alongside our experienced team of Facilities and Maintenance engineers, primarily at our Millbrook site though other travel to other sites may be required on an infrequent basis. 

Responsibilities

  • This is an opportunity to develop your experience in a world class company, on a complex site, developing your skills as a Facilities engineer. This includes working on buildings, roads, plant and land management. 
  • Support the existing Facilities and Maintenance teams to manage the day-to-day challenges of managing a complex site. 

  • Working with the facilities team on the new buildings, upgrading facilities and major maintenance projects for customers and UTAC operational departments.  

  • Support the Project Manager in the administrative & delivery of construction & Maintenance projects on site.  

  • Project management working within all disciplines of the construction industry. 

  • Managing Capital Expenditure (CapEx) budgets including value engineering to ensure innovation & efficiency and to drive in cost effectiveness at all times. 

  • Ensuring that all building regulations, legislations and internal procedures are met in every aspect of our work. 

  • Co-ordinating and Supervising construction works on site, recording data into infrastructure and facilities software. 

  • Develop skills in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and project management software. 

  • Provides an environment to practice and develop problem solving skills 

  • Continuous Improvement applied to all activities to ensure ever improving facilities and processes.  

  • Developing Risk Assessments for all activities 

  • Developing a safe working environment at all times 

  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in a construction related or building services type discipline (Preferred) 

  • HNC/HND Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)  

Experience 

  • An interest and passion in progressing your career within Facilities engineering on a complex Automotive site essential 

  • Previous experience beneficial but not essential 

  • Experience using CAD software beneficial but not essential 

  • Facilities work experience with infrastructure such as electrical systems, plant and other building services.  

  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management 2015 

  • Knowledge of a mixture of construction trades  

  • Managing and designing construction projects

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications 

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 

  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • An understanding of the construction RIBA stages

Other

  • Full UK driving licence & own transport (UTAC Millbrook is not easily assessable via public transport)

  • NOTE: This position be will based on site
