Job Description

Chemist

Duration: 6 Months contract

Location: Berkeley,CA,94710

Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses or experiments in laboratories for quality or process control or to develop new products or knowledge.

• Bachelor’s Degree in science or technical field. 4-5 years’ experience performing relevant activities including working in a cGMP compliant environment required.

• Experience with protein, carbohydrate, small molecule and excipient testing of Chromatography techniques are desired.

• Experience with chromatography systems and software (Waters/ Empower, Dionex/Chromelean, Agilent/Chemstation, AKTA/Unicorn) is required.

• Experience with Wet-Chemical techniques, Elisa assays, Gel Electrophoresis Capillary Electrophoresis, Spectroscopy is desired.

• Ability to multi-task and good adaptability to changing business requirements in a dynamic corporate environment.

• Familiarity with Bayer products and manufacturing processes highly desirable.

• Strong computer and communication skills are required.

• Experience with equipment and analytical method validation laboratory execution is required.

• Strong technical writing skills for reports and SOPs are required. Performs and ensures completion of analytical laboratory testing including intermediates, final container, stability, and special testing.

• Contributes to department improvement projects, identification of root cause for investigations, and the improvement of laboratory test methods.

• Performs laboratory discrepancy investigations and supports the implementation of corrective and preventative actions
