Job Description
- Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Carry out individualized treatment plans designed to improve patients’ strength, mobility, balance, coordination, function, and overall quality of life.
- Provide treatments including therapeutic exercise, therapeutic activities, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy, gait training, balance training, and functional training as appropriate.
- Educate patients on their exercises, treatment techniques, home exercise programs, and strategies to improve function and promote long-term success.
- Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and communicate changes, concerns, and progress with the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Assist the Physical Therapist with patient reassessments and modifications to the plan of care as directed.
- Build strong relationships with patients through compassionate, individualized, and encouraging care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinical, legal, and insurance requirements.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other members of the clinical team to provide coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment environment.
- Follow all applicable professional, ethical, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to expand clinical knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and excellent patient experience.
- Participate in patient education, community outreach, and clinic activities when appropriate.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
- Current or eligible for a Pennsylvania Physical Therapist Assistant license.
- New graduates and experienced Physical Therapist Assistants are welcome to apply.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Ability to effectively carry out treatment plans under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Strong interest in helping patients achieve their functional goals and improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Professional, dependable, and positive attitude.
- Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
- Candidates with special interests or experience in areas such as orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, manual therapy, pelvic health, lymphedema, pediatrics, or other specialty areas are encouraged to apply.
