Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team in Folkston, GA. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping patients improve their mobility, manage pain, and recover from injuries or surgeries under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

  • Perform a wide range of therapeutic interventions, including modality treatments, therapeutic exercises, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy, ADL training, and wound dressing
  • Accurately record patient progress and response to treatment in medical charts
  • Measure and document patients' range of motion, strength, and vital signs as needed
  • Report patient status to physicians and other healthcare personnel
  • Provide clear instructions to patients and their families on the use of assistive devices and home exercise techniques
  • Assist in quality assurance programs as directed by the Physical Therapist
  • Maintain technical proficiency in physical therapy principles, concepts, and techniques
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes
  • Adapt treatment approaches based on individual patient needs and progress
  • Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
  • Ability to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Georgia
  • Proficiency in physical therapy principles, concepts, and techniques
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an autonomous environment
  • Compassion and patience when working with patients of all ages and conditions
  • Basic PC skills, including proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Physical stamina to assist patients with exercises and movements
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and schedules
  • Goal-oriented approach to patient care and treatment plans
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying updated on physical therapy best practices
  • New or recent graduates are encouraged to apply

Note: Willingness to work in Folkston, GA is required for this position.
