Position Title: Sr. Java Developer

Location: Washington, DC (LOCALS Only)

Duration: 6 Months+

Tasks:

• Review, analyze, and modify existing software programs. The developer will work under some supervision, but will be expected to work independently on complex, non-routine tasks and projects unique to the organization.

• May interact with end-users and other technical personnel to identify and correct software problems.

• Ability to work with existing applications by quickly understanding existing features.

• Create a unit test and integration test plan and write unit test cases using JUnit / TestNg.

• Code, test, debug and install software applications.

• Resolve any technical issues related to newly-created or modified code, through debugging and troubleshooting.

• Adhere to stated organizational policies and guidelines such as, but not limited to, IA, security, and IT best practices, procedures, and standards. Includes taking action when non-compliance occurs.

• Solid understanding of J2EE Application servers like on the WebSphere platform.

• Hands-on working experience with the Source Code Management tools like GIT / BitBucket.

• Participate in all Agile/Scrum team activities

• Develop continuous integration testing solution with in a DevOps environment

• Work directly with members (Requirement Analysts, Developers, Scrum Master, and Project Manager) of the Scrum team to deliver a quality product to the customer.

Competencies:

• Must have 5+ years Java development experience with ability to develop unit / integration test cases using Junit /TestNg.

• Must have ability to understand and work with code developed by other developers.

• Must have ability to work independently.

• Must have 2+ years’ experience with web services and understanding of RESTful / SOA Services.

• Must have extensive experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

• Must have strong experience in continuous integration within DevOps environment.

• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in English).

• Good to have experience with working on front end applications using JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS and Bootstrap.

• Good to have experience in working with API Management Tools.

• Good to have Experience in working with GIT/BitBucket.
