Job Title : Enterprise Architect (EA) 

Location : Washington DC

Duration : 12 months + 

The desired Enterprise Architect (EA) will develop solutions that bring together various technologies, standards, processes, tools, and services into a stable and effective technology platform aligned with our strategic direction and mission requirements. 

• Documentation of current solution/services architectures (business services provided and technologies employed in delivering the services), including an assessment of business value, technical risk, service cost, and organizational alignment.

• Design of a future state architecture that includes business services to be provided, technologies to be employed in delivering those services, a projection of business value, reduced technical risk and service cost, and enhanced organizational alignment.

• Development of gap analysis and closure plans, including analysis of the gaps between the as-is and to-be states and a plan of action necessary to close the gaps, prioritized based upon business value and dependencies.

• Partnering with DOES leadership and partners to build and validate our solution strategy.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Continually evaluate the portfolio of applications within the solution architect’s business domain and work in collaboration with IT team and DOES’s partners in developing system lifecycle refresh plans and roadmaps.

• Serve as technical expert across multiple application projects

• Provide long term evaluations of systems, agency wide

• Development and management of technology standards and reference architectures

• Assist in Developing IT strategy documentation and input into business strategy documentation, in support of specified business units

• Assist in training and communication programs

• Assist in selection of technology including due diligence activities

Required Skills:

• A proven track record of architecting and delivering enterprise level business applications - 10 years

• IT industry experience - 15 years

• Infrastructure and system solution architecture experience - 8 years

• Document as-is and to-be states, develop gap analysis and closure plans, including analysis of the gaps and a plan of action - 5 years

• Experience in documenting architecture specifications, diagramming and modeling. - 8 years

• Experience architecting and integrating with both on premise and cloud and SaaS technology solutions - 6 years

• Must be well informed and knowledgeable around leading edge concepts in technology including Web technologies, SOA, SaaS, Virtualization, Security. - 5 years 

• Possess excellent organizational, communication, and skills - 10 years

• Experience in presenting to an executive level audience - 8 years

• Ability to serve as technical leader and team player - 8 years

• Ability to assess/diagnose problems and requirements for work, identify root causes of technical problems, and recommend solutions - 8 years 

• Experience in multiple platforms and databases e.g. Microsoft and Unix/Linux,Mainframe, SQL, DB2, Oracle etc - 10 years

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent degree - 4 years
