Requisition Title: IT - Software Configuration Management System Architect
Introduction:

The software engineering infrastructure group is responsible for the IT environment that is used by more than 1000 software developers within ASML. This environment consists of an integrated development, build, test and release environment and must be capable to support the lifecycle and configuration management of the ASML product software.

The environment is developed and maintained in close cooperation with the ASML software development community. Key challenge is on one hand to have a state of the art environment to support the newest product development and on the other hand safeguard the stability and reliability and long term support for the growing installed product base at our customers.

In this group we have multiple vacancies for SCM (Software Configuration Management) architects. We are looking for experts in one of the domains (software configuration management, development, build. test and patch and release environment and the supporting infrastructure) as architects who are capable to integrate the individual components into a state of the art software configuration management solution.

 

This job will give you the opportunity to work in a large team of software configuration management specialists.


Job Mission:

Guard and guide the architecture of the ASML software development environment, in close co-operation with the ASML software developers .


Job Description:

 

  • Play a major role in defining short/mid/long term roadmap;
  • Participate as lead architect in the projects within our IT CCP ST software (Competence Center Product Solution Team) department;
  • Define improvement proposals that focus on system performance and process efficiency for end-users;
  • Stay in contact and aligned with major tool suppliers, to discuss their product roadmaps;
  • Strong partner in discussions with product architects and other stakeholders within the software development department;
  • Keep abreast with relevant literature, means and methods.

Context of the position:

ICT infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all ASML’s internal and external activities.

 

A sub-department within the IT organization is IT CCP ST; this department is responsible for the infrastructure and tooling for ASML’s development organization. Within IT CCP ST three development disciplines are represented: mechanical, electrical and software engineering. The SCM system Architect will be active in the software engineering group.

 

The SCM system architect will be part of the Architecture team which is part of the software engineering infrastructure team (appr. 35 fte). This team is responsible fo r the software development environment for ASML’s product lines and maintains supports and further develops this environment.

Qualifications

Experience:


  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding and practical experience with:
    - Software development environments.
    - Configuration and build management.
    - Unix/Linux Hardware infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of ClearCase is a pre.
  • Preferably hands on experience as a software developer or software configuration manager.


Personal skills:

  • Shows initiative and problem solving attitude;
  • Pragmatic, practical, flexible and committed to quality;
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in the English language.


Education:

At least Bachelor level degree in IT or Software engineering.
