AIDS Partnership Michigan (APM) was formed in 1996 through a merger between Wellness Networks, Inc. and AIDS Care Connection. APM was established to better address the emerging AIDS epidemic in the Detroit/Metro area. AIDS Partnership Michigan has always worked by providing education and services to help prevent the spread of HIV and to help connect people living with HIV to needed services.
HIV/AIDS Resource Center (HARC) was founded in 1986 by a group of volunteers to provide HIV/AIDS related services to the people of Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, and Washtenaw counties. Over the past decade, HARC has developed into a leading HIV/AIDS services provider in Michigan.

UNIFIED - HIV Health and Beyond (UHHB), a multi-service organization for persons impacted by HIV, seeks to hire a Syringe Access Specialist. Candidates must be able to work with diverse populations. Bachelor’s Degree required.
Provide a range of outreach activities and syringe services including HIV, and Hep C testing as needed.
Engagement – to establish trust with community stakeholders, assess and remove barriers to a UHHB’s syringe access program and services within Jackson, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties.
Stabilization – to research and secure the necessary city/county exemptions to establish/expand UHHB’s syringe access sites within Jackson, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties.
Active Referrals – to provide linkage to appropriate services including escort to initial medical appointments, advocacy on behalf of client when needed, informal HIV education and risk/harm reduction.
Bachelor’s Degree and community engagement experience.
Strong knowledge of target demographic and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS/STIs and risk/harm reduction methodologies.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work as a member of a team and be self-motivated.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Access to a properly insured vehicle for the performance of job responsibilities is a requirement for this position.
