The salary for this role is £63,856 (inclusive of a Market Premium Payment (MPP))
Job Description
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role

In this position, you'll provide support to the UKAEA Chief Engineer and Facility Chief Engineer for high or highest complexity facilities, and also assume the role of an independent Design Authority for facilities and projects within the remit of the Tritium and Process Systems area.
The scope charges you to independently oversee technical governance of Tritium and Process systems projects, facilities and experiments.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage proactively and hold a measure of responsibility for the long-term success of the portfolio.
- Build effective relationships with operations leaders and authority to operate holders, supporting operations, safety, and plant protection.
- Interact confidently with individuals across all organizational levels, offering expertise in technical governance and scrutinizing engineering activities.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of daily operations, safety cases, and management of unexpected events.
- By exception be available to handle technical or operational issues outside regular hours.
- Regularly communicate issues and status updates across the organization and beyond, promoting sharing of experiences and best practices.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience of the following, as demonstrated by track record (roles, responsibilities, projects, etc):
-Delivering and utilising complex industrial or research plant.
-Delivery across Plant Lifecycle (Need, Design, Build & Test, Commission, Operate, Monitor, Maintain & Modify, Decommission)
-Relevant industrial regulations, codes, standards, and norms together with tailoring their application within a diverse business.
- Experience working within and leading multi-disciplinary teams, to include several specialties from the following:
-Engineering Delivery; Operations; Safety Case; Machine / Plant / Asset Protection; Asset Management & Maintenance; Quality Assurance; Waste Management; Environment; Safety
- Advanced Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) - Membership of recognised professional body in a relevant discipline (or on a development path to achieve membership)
Desirable
- Experience in hydrogen or tritium design
