Job Description
As the Director of Business Operations, you will join the IT Leadership team at Twitter leading the internal logistics organization that focuses on improving financial management, driving operational acuity through metrics and driving process efficiency across the technology towers. This operations and logistical thought partner is a master negotiator, expert planner, financially acute, and thrives executing. They are emotionally empathetic yet resilient in developing relationships across IT, Information Security and other business units. Their ability to influence and move things forward is their preferred method of engagement in an environment engineered for “sell not tell”.
Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of analysts, relationship managers, vendor management professionals and process designers in the pursuit of creating frictionless alignment across the IT and Information Security organization(s).
- Responsible for all aspects of budget management and forecasting across a large global budget - partners closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis function to optimize spend, catalog savings opportunities, calibrate forecasts and build financial models to ensure every spend is fully optimized.
- Responsible for managing the internal vendor management processes and platforms that lead to faster, more precise and comprehensive purchasing contracts and agreements across IT and InfoSec. They will partner closely with Strategic Sourcing to ensure prioritization of agreements, lead complex negotiations on behalf of Twitter’s IT and InfoSec organizations.
- Leads the creation of strategy and medium term plans across the IT and InfoSec organization, aligning with the broader Privacy teams and Corporate Strategy and Operations (S&O) function. Acts as the representative and advocate for IT and InfoSec in all planning cycles and engagements.
- Partners with the HRBP on ensuring the integrity of the organizational design, HR driven activities are properly prioritized across all organizational pillars and assists in program design development that drives continuous improvement.
- Responsible for the process design and change management governance efforts across IT and InfoSec organizations - this includes the design elements, measurements, exception handling and rollout elements.
- This role is that of a diplomat fostering strong relationships across the businesses and measuring service satisfaction, customer metrics and aligning business needs with IT services and capabilities.
- Organizes outside engagements on behalf of IT and InfoSec with all service providers, ensures that structural mechanisms are in place to ensure that reporting is delivered, and status meetings occur - works with outside parties on events and discussions that further executive alignment.
- Responsible for leading the operational metrics function, aligning the internal teams to a common framework and objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years in the business operations, program management, service delivery and/or strategy/operations space.
- Has 5+ years managing complex budgets and navigating financial reports.
- 7+ years of managing relationships with senior leaders of an organization at the SVP level and above - understands the complications of competing relationships and how to navigate appropriately.
- 5+ years of process design and change management expertise - knows how to unpack business process and find defects.
- 5-7 years of operational analytics experience focus on operational health, project and portfolio metrics, ‘Run the business/change the business’ metrics, labor capacity/demand and financial health.
- Experience in highly structured businesses like Finance or Big 4 consulting firms is highly preferred.
