Sr. Product Manager, Platform Manipulation (Remote, North America)

  • Full-time

Company Description

Twitter is what’s happening and what people are talking about right now. For us, life's not about a job, it's about purpose. We believe real change starts with conversation. Here, your voice matters. Come as you are and together we'll do what's right (not what's easy) to serve the public conversation.

Job Description

At Twitter, we consider it our responsibility to foster a healthy public conversation. These roles contribute to that by ensuring that people can’t artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience on Twitter.

Who We Are

This role is part of the Account Integrity team that is working to ensure all Twitter accounts are authentic and protected, reducing the prevalence and impact of bad actors across the entire platform. Fighting inauthentic (“fake”) accounts, inauthentic engagement, and manipulative content plays an important role in fostering a safer, real environment for hundreds of millions of users to join healthy public conversation daily.

What You’ll Do

This is a hands-on role that will focus on exploring customer and technology needs in this space and building solutions quickly with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders.

In these roles, you will (in no particular order):

  • Develop a customer-centric vision for protecting our platform from manipulation, and convey your vision through bold product roadmaps

  • Review existing processes, identify gaps in the solution set, recommend improvements, and see the changes through

  • Work directly with peers in Engineering, Design, Research, Legal, Product and Data Science to develop & validate solutions, and drive impact

  • Pursue deep customer understanding through quantitative and qualitative techniques

  • Maintain a high bar for transparent and fair rule enforcement experiences

Who You Are

You are a customer-focused product thinker with a track record of making an impact in a product based on security, or user generated content or interactions. You bring strong consumer product intuition, an understanding of hypothesis-driven product development processes, and are effective at operating in fast paced environments that have to react to a changing global environment and constantly evolving adversaries. You approach problems with multiple solutions in mind, and quickly pivot when needed to better account for newly-discovered data and insight. Clear and concise communication is essential. You are experienced in improving online health & safety and have an understanding of this landscape.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as a product manager, and a strong understanding of online platform health and safety

  • A history of building lasting cross-functional partnerships with both internal and external groups, especially Engineering, Product, Security, Compliance and Legal.

  • History of working with data hands-on, and a demonstrated ability to use analytics when making product or business decisions without being paralyzed by incomplete information.

  • Ability to think strategically and history of crafting a compelling product vision.

  • Experience driving impact through cross-functional leadership.

  • You have great communication skills and excel at translating customer problems & ideas into product requirements.

  • You have a get-stuff-done attitude, great positive energy, and thrive in an environment where you’re diving into machine learning systems one day and designing customer experiences the next.
