The Role
As a Product Design Director at Twitter, you will have a direct impact on product strategy, roadmaps, and the detailed design of new experiences. We are part of a larger design and research team that’s full of amazingly talented and fun people who are passionate about Twitter’s ability to help people see beyond themselves and connect with the larger world in a meaningful way.
Twitter is looking for a passionate Product Design Director to lead the design teams responsible for our Non-Ads Revenue Design Team which includes Shopping, Professional Journey, and the Twitter Developer Platform team, which builds and owns Twitter’s public Application Programming Interface (API). This is a rare opportunity to unlock creativity & innovation to serve the public conversation while working on new areas of growth for Twitter.
Who you are:
You are a business-oriented design leader who has shipped enterprise or consumer products at scale. You will bring a mix of design expertise, strong management experience, team investment, emerging technology knowledge, talent, and innovative product insights to the role. You’ll balance a rigorous user-centric perspective with the ability to make bold decisions and move the product forward in a fast-paced development environment. You will foster cross-functional and cross product area collaboration and consistency by working closely with product managers and engineers to shape the vision and define the roadmap for our products. You will partner with our Research team to find opportunities and integrate user insights into product strategy and design. You will always champion user experience, product consistency, and design excellence. You have an interest in Commerce, supporting SMBs, and working closely with developer communities.
What you'll do:
Lead the product design team for our Non-Ads Revenue teams which includes team leadership, advocacy for the design practice and identifying product use cases.
Drive collaboration and vision across the company and build alignment on priorities leading to design execution and design excellence.
Shape the product roadmap both short term and long term.
Partner closely with a team of product managers, engineers, content strategists, data scientists, research scientists, and user researchers to identify opportunities to improve the Twitter app for Shopping, Professionals, and Developers.
Recruit, develop, and retain design talent and build a culture where designers can thrive and grow in their careers.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience in product design.
- 6+ years of leadership experience managing direct reports.
- A master at designing simple, easy-to-use, well crafted products that provide value to our customers.
- Senior people management, team development, org design, and recruiting experience
- Visual and interaction design experience in software design.
- Raises the bar for creativity, craft, quality, and documentation.
- Experience executing with hands-on design
