Design Foundation is a cross-functional team of designers, creative specialists, and design engineers helping to set Twitter's strategic design vision. Our team collaborates closely with Marketing, Product Design, Content Strategy, Research, Product and Engineering partners to develop compelling and effective design solutions that scale across web and mobile experiences.
Job Description
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Help collaborators focus on the needs of Twitter users as they identify and confront toxic and critical content and interactions. In this role, you will perform foundational and tactical research to build deep understanding and emotional intelligence around user needs, stated and unstated, for your entire product team including designers, product managers, and engineers.
Draw on research knowledge and insights to provide strategic counsel on product roadmaps
Apply a variety of research methods and perspectives, including: conducting primary and secondary research and engaging external guides.
Develop positive relationships with researchers and cross-functional partners

Criteria for the Position:
Strong Research and Communication Skills
Experience in multiple research methodologies, including developing and implementing multi-method research projects
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate user insights into compelling narratives
Validated Growth Mindset
Proven eagerness to learn or grow in role
Willingness to receive feedback and ability to ask for help
Must haves:
2-3 years of experience as a researcher for technology companies or equivalent academic experience, including about to graduate or recent graduate of a Masters or PhD program in human-computer interaction, social media studies, behavioral economics, psychology, sociology, anthropology or other social sciences.
Shown grasp of both qualitative and quantitative methods
Experience with health/integrity-related topic areas
Nice to haves:
Domain expertise in Account Health, Content Health, Societal Health, and/or Reporting Tools.
Experience in Applied Research Settings
History of having a significant impact on product, policy, and/or company goals
Experience working optimally with Design, Data Science, Engineering, and Product Managers to realize common goals.
Collaborating on quantitative and qualitative research projects with researchers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and policy makers.
Experience working with Policy and Legal teams, having work impact policy strategy
