Job Description

At Twitter, we consider it our responsibility to foster a healthy public conversation. This role contributes to that by ensuring that everyone on Twitter is 13 or older and that we’re showing suitable content and advertisements to everyone under 18.

Who We Are

This role is part of the Health’s Content and Interactions team which is working to reduce the prevalence and impact of unhealthy, harmful, or illegal content across the entire platform. Fighting misinformation, abuse, toxicity, and illegal content plays an important role in fostering a safer environment for hundreds of millions of users daily. 

What You’ll Do

This is a hands-on role that will focus on exploring customer, regulatory, and technology needs in this space and building solutions quickly with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders.

This role specifically will (in no particular order):

  • Be the single end-to-end owner of Twitter’s strategy for age verification and how we ensure age appropriate experiences

  • Work directly with peers in Engineering, Design, Research, and Data Science to develop & validate solutions, and drive impact

  • Pursue deep customer understanding through quantitative & qualitative techniques

  • Build a cohesive, high-functioning team that thrives in a culture of trust, respect, empathy, and inclusion.

  • Maintain a high bar for transparent and fair rule enforcement experiences

  • Use your understanding all customer needs, broader company goals, and how they fit together to drive decision making in ambiguous situations

Who You Are

You are a customer-focused product thinker with a track record of making an impact in a product based on user generated content or interactions. You bring strong consumer product intuition, an understanding of hypothesis-driven product development processes, and are effective at operating in fast paced environments that have to react to a changing global environment. Clear and concise communication is essential.

Passion for improving online health & safety and understanding of this landscape is helpful, but direct experience with this is not required. We encourage new perspectives provided you have a strong interest in this space and capability to learn quickly. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Two plus (2+) years in Product Management type roles

  • Excellent at building strong relationships with a diverse set of customers and stakeholders from across the business, regardless of their role or specialism

  • Inclination towards data driven decision making without being paralyzed by incomplete information

  • Structured approach to identifying, understanding, and solving customer problems 

  • Collaborative approach to aligning team members without defaulting to consensus driven decisions

  • A strong growth mindset and empathetic servant leadership approach to product management

  • Curiosity and creativity

  • You’re able to simplify and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders to explain impact and drive buy-in

Desired skills:

  • Experience providing product management support to remote teams

  • A working understanding of machine learning systems and their capabilities/limitations

  • Experience with incentive systems, penalty systems, or a background in behavioral psychology
