Job Description

You will be responsible for helping to provide security protections and monitoring for sensitive data in any format or location. You will help identify, review and respond to a wide array of events generated by data protection technology, insider risk and system abuse detections. You will design, advocate, and help build security data protection technology addressing internal and external threat concerns. 

 

As an Senior Security Engineer, you will perform these key tasks:

 

  • Design and implement capabilities for monitoring, observability and detecting irregular and/or abnormal data protection technology suite.

  • Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, to include understanding functional requirements, design, & scalability through implementation and testing

  • Aggregate, analyze, and evaluate technical data sources to identify security risks to data protection 

  • Build sustainable processes of identifying signals and building threat models around them to enhance predictive capabilities

  • Coordinate with security partners to tune and enhance data loss prevention capabilities or to aid in investigations or respond to incidents

  • Provide mentoring and guidance on technical security analytics related matters, methodologies, and techniques both within the team and to external partners

Qualifications

You care about security and building a secure environment for the people using Twitter everyday. You are curious, and have experience with the tools of the trade, comfortable digging into the details, and eager to help others protect our systems. Ideally, you have most of the following:

 

  • 5 or more years of practical industry experience with data protection technologies such as DLP, User Behavior Analytics (UBA), and Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB)

  • 3 or more years of exposure to search queries for knowledge engineering, data classification, e-discovery and/or digital forensics projects 

  • Experience with security events, their reviews and triage in data protection space

  • Experience working with cross functional teams to conduct investigations and triage such as Insider Threat, Compliance, Legal and HR 

  • Working knowledge of SQL or other relational databases 

  • Experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, Scala, or Java

  • Good understanding of distributed systems with strong debugging and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Colorado is USD$146,000.00 - USD$204,000.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
