We operate in a hybrid cloud environment with our own data centers and AWS (Amazon Web Services). This includes bare metal and containerized services for messaging, graph storage, database clusters, observability, etc. Partners organizations at Twitter build upon to deliver great new products and features to our users around the world.
The Platform Product organization is a critical team that provides direction and puts a business and product lens on all the work the platform organization does at Twitter, from data to analytics, storage to data centers, graph technologies, to networking and data centers. With every product we ship to our internal customers, we provide an enabling environment to build exciting experiences for our customers.

What You’ll Do
As Sr Director of Product for Platform Infrastructure + Reliability, you’ll actively develop a deep understanding of Twitter's products and lead the team to ensure the timely coverage of product initiatives across the company and develop a comprehensive, cohesive vision for a product portfolio that advances our reliability posture. Areas of responsibility include:
Own the strategic aspects of our reliability initiative and manage the output of the numerous workstreams to ensure that what we build supports reliability outcomes
Create a strategy to manage bare metal services fleetwide
Build products to more effectively manage fleet health
Automate and simplify configuration management
Build an effective chargeback mechanism and seek adoption within teams
Capacity forecasting and planning to make sure that Twitter can scale as we attract more users
Collaborate cross-functionally with our Legal, Public Policy, and Communications teams on product launches
Consider both organic and non-organic opportunities and being outspoken about cost/benefit tradeoffs
Build a growing team of direct reports (Product Managers) through diligent hiring, direct mentoring, and a comprehensive staff development plan and the next level of managers
Develop an internal marketing strategy with the team, making sure that partner organizations are informed of the offered capabilities and engaged on future features;
You will report directly to Richard Rabbat, Head of Product, Platform.
Who You Are:
Seasoned manager with 5+ years leading large teams and other managers in Engineering and/or Program Management.
Passionate team builder who mentors and supports other leaders, and who invests in their team to help them unlock their potential.
Strong technical background and program management expertise.
Executive level communication, with an emphasis on written skills.
Systems thinker and a quantitative approach to problem solving.
Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability and results.
Excellent cross-team collaboration, able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.
Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners
Dedication to teams over individuals as the primary performance unit
Strong growth mentality and a servant leadership approach
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in a product management role
Leading teams, preferably in multi-site organizations. Bonus: Has held leadership roles that require extensive collaboration with third parties, partners, and teams whose short-term priorities may not be aligned with yours.
Exceptional interpersonal skills; excels at providing balanced feedback to influence decision-making without direct managerial authority.
Strong process modeling and problem-solving capabilities. Able to document and analyze the flow of information between systems, quickly grasps how product settings and features interact to impact customer experience, and promptly propose elegant, creative solutions to address product and customer needs.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills; able to express complex issues using clear, customer-focused language that is tailored to the intended audience.
Experience working with quantitative and qualitative data, including research findings, to support recommendations.
Sound business judgment and critical thinking skills
Familiarity with product needs to operate data centers
Experience working on products that have a multi-regional or global impact
A Masters in CS or EE degree or an MBA is required
