Job Description

As a Security Engineer on the InfoSec Intelligence team, you will be responsible for implementing capabilities and automation that enable us to support intelligence customers at scale.  You will evaluate issues that endanger Twitter infrastructure, such as software vulnerabilities, exploits, malware, attacker TTPs, threat actors, and breaches and intrusion campaigns. You will continually evaluate developments in the threat landscape against our own security posture, and your findings will drive, inform, and prioritize Twitter's security efforts. You will also collaborate with teams across the company to help build or improve their intel capabilities, produce narrative and visual documentation in support of security incidents.

 

As an Senior Security Engineer, you will perform these key tasks:

 

  • Design and implement capabilities for monitoring and observability for threats against Twitter’s infrastructure.

  • Work cross functionally with other teams across the company to improve how threat intelligence is shared and consumed. 

  • Mentor and help develop other members of the organization.

  • Drive continual improvement in processes and procedures to improve the quality and effectiveness of the team.

  • Collaborate on technical directions and solutions with other teams.

  • Research and analyze patterns in threats, vulnerabilities and other events across Twitter’s global infrastructure.

  • Manage and support the intelligence collection.

  • Participate in an on call rotation.

Qualifications

You care about security and building a secure environment for the people using Twitter everyday. You are curious, and have experience with the tools of the trade, comfortable digging into the details, and eager to help others protect our systems. 

 

  • 3-5 years of relevant information security experience, with a focus on Threat Intelligence.

  • Knowledge of networking and macOS, Windows or Linux operating systems.

  • Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals and practices (vendor agnostic).

  • Experience managing and/or deploying security technology.

  • Experience with building queries and dashboards for security monitoring.

  • Knowledge of current threats and techniques and a desire to research and learn more.

  • Practical knowledge of SQL, scripting or coding (language agnostic).

  • Experience with malware analysis, forensics or penetration testing.

  • Problem solving skills or experience with troubleshooting.
