Who We Are

Twitter SRE scales Twitter to serve the public conversation around the globe. We inspire engineering confidence by systematically making services reliable and efficient, and ensuring changes are safe and fast.

Core Infrastructure Systems SRE scales and operates a portfolio of systems that provide secure access to, and fundamental underpinnings of, Twitter’s infrastructure. In this role, you will serve Twitter by ensuring the reliability of these systems and helping ensure that they meet growth needs in an innovative hybrid on-prem and cloud environment.

As an SRE on the Core Infrastructure Systems SRE team, you will join a team of talented, diverse, and driven engineers who are working to keep Twitter’s internal infrastructure reliable and scalable. 

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a steward of Twitter’s production environment by providing on-call support, incident response, collaborative debugging, and continuous learning via blameless postmortems.

  • Implement systemic improvements to reliability, scalability, and security of core infrastructure systems.

  • Collaborate with engineers in peer teams to develop solutions that work effectively in Twitter’s ecosystem.

  • Automate routine tasks and build for self-service.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a reliability engineering, software engineering, or systems engineering; blend of interests in both software and systems engineering.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of CS fundamentals including OS, Networking, Data Structures, Algorithms, Concurrency, and Distributed Systems.

  • Ability to write code in at least one language; comfortable implementing both functionality and tests, and reviewing others’ code.

  • Take enjoyment in anticipating how systems fail, how failure can be designed for and monitored for, and what constitutes good SLIs.

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

  • Have a passion for automation!

Desired Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in foundational infrastructural services, such as DNS.

  • Familiarity with security concepts such as principle of least privilege and ephemeral access.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one public Cloud computing service.

Notice (Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act)

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Colorado is USD$191,000.00 - USD$267,000.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
